Nearly a day after the terror attack, police on Friday have recovered the bodies of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs) killed by terrorists in Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police spokesman said that the bodies of terror attack victims were recovered from Keshwan area after extensive joint search operation.
“In an intensive joint search operation, police successfully recovered the bodies of two Village Defense Guards identified as Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, from Ohli Kuntwara, who were abducted and killed in a terror attack in Kishtwar district,” said the spokesman.
He said that the operation, led by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with the CRPF and Army was conducted to search the forested areas where the bodies were recovered.
Meanwhile protests were also staged in Kishtwar town and Jammu to protest the killings.
Kishtwar also observed shutdown during the protests.
Several organisations protesting against the killings, demanded stern action against the terrorists.
The Village Defence Guards were killed by the terrorists in Kishtwar district.
“Both of them used to go to Munzla Dhar (Adhwari) for grazing their cattle but did not return on Thursday,” they said.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, National Conference and the National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah also condemned the gruesome killing of two VDGs in Kishtwar.
