Srinagar, Mar 10 (UNI) A temple was gutted in a fire incident in Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, officials said.

Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered an inquiry into the incident to establish the cause of the fire, an official spokesman said.
District Magistrate (DM), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya along with Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Amrit Paul Singh visited the site of Rojana Temple at Zainapora Shopian to take stock of the situation.
Forensic team has also collected the samples of the gutted temple and police are investigating the cause of fire and lodged an FIR in this regard.
Vaishya said that those found guilty shall not be spared but brought to book.
Meanwhile, DM directed Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapora for immediate restoration of the gutted temple.
