Saifco Cements Pvt. Ltd, now a part of JK Cement Ltd – one of India’s top cement manufacturers – has officially launched the JK Super Cement brand in Kashmir. This marks an important step in JK Cement’s expansion plans and its commitment to supporting both infrastructure growth and the economy in Jammu & Kashmir.
JK Super Cement, the company’s flagship grey cement brand, is well-known for its strength, durability, and consistent quality. With this launch, the cement will now be produced locally in Kashmir, ensuring faster supply for construction projects and easier availability for consumers in every major district.
Speaking about the launch, Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd, said that entering the Kashmir market is a natural part of the company’s long-term growth strategy in the North. “The region is seeing rapid development in public infrastructure and housing. By producing cement locally, we can meet this demand efficiently while also contributing to the local economy,” he said.
Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JK Cement Ltd, added that the initiative goes beyond business. “It’s about creating jobs, developing skills, and empowering communities. We want to build a self-reliant ecosystem that will support Kashmir’s growth for decades,” he said.
The local manufacturing unit will distribute JK Super Cement across all key districts of Kashmir including Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama. The company has strengthened its local team to work closely with builders, contractors, and government bodies, offering technical guidance, quality checks, and training for smooth adoption.
Mr. Suhail Manzoor Guna, Director of Saifco Cements, called the launch a proud milestone. “This is more than just introducing a new brand—it’s a promise to help build a stronger and more self-reliant Jammu & Kashmir,” he said. Mr. Dawood Altaf Guna, Director of Saifco Cements, added that the company aims to supply top-quality cement for the region’s growing construction needs while generating meaningful local employment.
This move is in line with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision. JK Cement’s investment in Kashmir follows its recent market expansion in Bihar and production capacity boosts in other states, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s cement and infrastructure sector.(KINS)
