A trekker from Delhi died, and two other persons, including a shepherd, are missing who were on a trekking trip in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.

They said the trekker, identified as 44-year-old Rohit Sayal, a resident of South West Delhi sector No. 19, who was trekking along with two other persons from Vashnosar to Gangbal-Naranag, slipped to death amid inclement weather.

A shepherd and another person whose identity could not be ascertained yet, are missing.

Police have launched a rescue operation in the area to trace the missing persons.
