Karra launches ‘Ghar-Ghar Dastak, Har-Ghar Dastak’ campaign; reiterates demand for restoration of J&K Statehood

ammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday launched the party’s new outreach campaign — ‘Ghar-Ghar Dastak, Har-Ghar Dastak’ — during the Block Presidents’ Conclave held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.

The slogan, Karra said, symbolizes the Congress Party’s unwavering resolve for the restoration of full Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and its commitment to bring back the region’s lost dignity and honour.

“Ghar-Ghar Dastak, Har-Ghar Dastak is not just a slogan, but a movement reaffirming Congress’s determination to restore complete Statehood to J&K. Our district and block presidents will reach every household to seek people’s cooperation in this fight for justice,” Karra said in a statement issued to news agency KINS.

He termed the delay in Statehood restoration as “condemnable” and “an insult to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.” Karra alleged that the Centre has deliberately kept J&K under direct control, disempowering both the people and their elected representatives.

“The delay in restoring Statehood has deprived people of democratic rights and development. Rising unemployment, economic slowdown, and lack of opportunities are the result of the Centre’s hypocrisy and wrong policies,” he said.

Karra reaffirmed that the Congress Party would continue its fight to expose what he called the BJP’s false promises and “fake narratives” propagated after the downgrading of J&K into a Union Territory.

“Our ‘Ghar-Ghar Dastak, Har-Ghar Dastak’ movement will be a people’s campaign—‘Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq’. Every Congress worker will take this fight to the masses,” Karra added, cautioning that the Centre’s current approach is detrimental to J&K’s interests.

On this occasion, JKPCC President along with senior leaders released the official pamphlet for the campaign.

Prominent leaders who attended and addressed the conclave included Bashir Ahmad Magray, Nizamuddin Bhat, Irfan Hafeez Lone, Abdul Raheem Rather, Abdul Gani Khan, Nissar Ahmad Mandoo, Shameema Raina, Dr. Audil Farooq Mir Lasjan, and several district presidents and coordinators.(KINS)
