‘Ladli Beti’ Scheme a step in safeguarding social fabric: Beg Srinagar: Former Parliamentarian and PDP Chief Spokesperson Dr.Mehboob Beg has lauded the 'Ladli Beti' scheme launched by Mehbooba Mufti and termed it as a significant step in safeguarding the social fabric in the state. The disturbing drop in the female-male ratio has been eating into the social fabric of the state and issues like skewed sex ration of females need to be addressed, said Beg. Beg also stated that all social as well as political organizations must come together and hail this step. He also stressed that female infanticide must be denounced by one and all and all possible social steps for the welfare of women must be undertaken on war footing basis. The scheme will take effect from April 2015 said Beg. (CNS)
