Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday that he held discussions in Pakistan on how dialogue with the United States could continue, amid ongoing regional diplomatic efforts involving several mediators.
“I had good consultations with my friends in Pakistan, and the visit was successful. We discussed under what conditions and on what track negotiations can be continued,” Araqchi wrote on Telegram.
During parallel regional consultations, Araghchi also referred to discussions in Oman, where Iranian and Omani officials addressed developments in the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, both sides shared common positions on maritime security and agreed to continue expert-level dialogue on the issue.
The Iranian foreign minister proceeded to Moscow for further consultations. Iranian officials indicated that he is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss the latest status of negotiations, ceasefire-related developments, and broader regional dynamics.
Russia and Iran have strengthened political and strategic ties in recent years, particularly as both countries remain under extensive Western sanctions.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry sources said the discussions would include updates on mediation efforts and ongoing regional conflicts.
Separately, Omani officials also said that discussions with Araghchi focused on regional stability, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, and continued mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions. Omani representatives emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to ongoing crises in the region.
The diplomatic exchanges come as international mediators continue efforts to sustain indirect engagement between Tehran and Washington, following earlier conflict-related tensions in the region and an extended pause in direct talks.
