Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone with Palestinian Vice President and Deputy Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) Hussein al-Sheikh, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
“During the conversation, the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone was discussed, with an emphasis on the need to ensure a sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the rapid commencement of work to restore the enclave’s almost completely destroyed civilian infrastructure, as well as the normalization of the situation in the West Bank,” the ministry said in a statement.
The phone call took place on Thursday.
