Srinagar: A day after Army said that Lashkar-e-Toiba and ISIS may be joining hands to carry out attacks in India, the militant outfit Saturday dismissed the charges, saying “we do not attack innocent civilians”.

In an emailed statement to KNS, Let Chief Mahmood Shah said that Daish (ISIS) is an anti-Islam group created by the West, and India is also completely involved in the creation.

“Our aim is to fight Indian army in Kashmir, and not to attack innocent civilians within India. The assertion made by the army is propaganda to defame us which India has been doing from several decades. Owrld is fully aware of Indian propaganda drama,” Shah was quoted by LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi.

Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 16 Corps had on Thursday said in Jammu region that Lashkar-e-Toiba and ISIS may be joining hands to carry out attacks in India,

“Yes, that (IS joining hands with LeT to launch attacks in India) can be a possibility as the motive of the terrorists is to spread their propaganda,” Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar had said.

The militant outfit has also demanded the state government to “swiftly” release Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi. (KNS)
