JK Centre for Peace and Justice (JKCPJ) Foundation successfully hosted Let’s Connect – Season 2, Chapter 2 today at Emporium Garden, bringing together around 70 participants in an engaging and refreshing open-air setting. Centered on the theme of Digital Detox, the event placed a strong emphasis on promoting mental wellness and encouraging meaningful, real-life connections.
The session began with a warm and welcoming introduction by the hosts, Mir Kashif and Rutba Nafees, who set the tone for a thoughtful and interactive experience. Participants were then engaged in a series of fun activities and guided conversations designed to foster mindfulness, emotional expression, and genuine human connection.
A key highlight of the event was a creative clay art activity, which encouraged self-expression, emotional release, and introspection—elements closely linked to mental well-being. The session also featured a dedicated discussion on mental health, emphasizing the importance of slowing down, being present, and consciously taking breaks from digital overload. The event concluded with a lively group activity, “Lakad Lakad,” fostering teamwork, laughter, and a strong sense of community among participants.
As the session progressed, attendees shared reflections on the impact of excessive screen time on their mental health. One of the participants, Sumaih Ahmad, described the experience as “a much-needed pause from the overwhelming digital noise, allowing space to breathe and be present.”
Another participant, Nabeel Jahangir, noted that “such initiatives are crucial today, as they not only address digital fatigue but also create opportunities for meaningful conversations and emotional connection.”
Sharing a similar sentiment, participant Maleeha expressed that the event helped her “detox her mind” and left her feeling refreshed and relaxed, while also looking forward to more such initiatives in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Nadir Ali emphasized the broader vision behind the initiative, stating that “the core idea behind Let’s Connect is mental wellness. Such initiatives are essential in helping youth build not only mental resilience but also emotional strength. Digital detox is one of the many ways through which we encourage individuals to slow down, reflect, and prioritize their mental health.”
Coordinator of the event, Ms. Sharika Manzoor, highlighted the significance of creating such safe and engaging spaces, adding that “the enthusiastic participation clearly reflects a growing need among people, especially youth, for platforms where they can openly connect, share, and focus on their well-being beyond the pressures of the digital world.”
The event concluded on a positive and reflective note, leaving participants with a renewed sense of awareness about their digital habits and the importance of maintaining mental balance. The Let’s Connect series continues to serve as a meaningful platform for individuals to unwind, connect, and prioritize their mental health in a supportive and engaging environment.(JKNS)
