In a shocking incident, a man was found on fire under mysterious circumstances today in the Miran Sahib area on the outskirts of the city.
According to police, the victim has been identified as Puran Chand (55) of Devi Dawara Mandir, R S Pura.
He was discovered burning near Ring Road Kotli Mian Fateh, within the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib Police Station.
Responding promptly, police personnel, along with local civilians, managed to control the fire and rushed the injured man to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for treatment.
“The FSL team has arrived at the scene to collect scientific evidence. Police have registered the case and an investigation is underway,” the police said in a statement.
The police investigation team, supervised by senior officers, is examining the incident from all angles to ascertain the facts.
