Srinagar: Amid drastic dip in mercury over past few days in Valley, Directorate of Health services in Kashmir (DHSK) on Friday issued a health advisory to people.
The advisory reads that people have to wear layers of warm clothes and keep feet and hands warm, saying that adults above 65 and infants are at high risk.
They said that cold weather also leads to increased formation of clots leading to heart attack and stroke.
According to Valley Media Service, the advisory reads that people should eat balanced diet and take warm beverages (Kehwa).
Avoid drinking alcohol and quit smoking read advisory. “Stay active indoors and do not sit for long period of time and move around every once in an hour.”
It further read that if working outdoors, work slowly and take frequent breaks, avoid walking on ice and snow.
