Srinagar: On a day when his family filed a missing report, police on Wednesday said that Kulgam youth has been arrested along with 40 bottles of illicit liquor in Bijbehara police station in south Kashmir.
“Police post Sangam (under the jurisdiction of police station Bijbhera) today recovered 40 bottles of illicit liquor each 750ml from vehicle Maruti 800 B/R No. JKO3A-5012,” a police officer said, adding, “The accused driver has been identified as Arif Ahmad Ganie Son of Sona Ullah Ganie of Qaimo Khudwani Kulgam.” He said case (FIR No.46/2019) stands registered in the police station.
Earlier, Arif’s family filed a missing report with police station Wanpoh in the Kulgam district and according to his family, he has crockery shop in Qazigund and was missing since April 8 along with his vehicle.
As Arif, who has a relative working with the territorial army, did not return home, the family approached police station Wanpoh and filed a missing report. (GNS)
