Mission in Iran not over until regime change: Mossad chief

David Barnea, head of the Mossad intelligence agency, declared at a Holocaust remembrance ceremony that operations targeting Iran will continue relentlessly, “until this radical regime is replaced.”

Revealing the agency’s deep agenda, Barnea claimed Mossad had operated “in the heart of Tehran,” providing intelligence that enabled precise strikes on missiles threatening Israel.

But these actions, he warned, are just the beginning, underscoring Israel’s readiness to confront what it describes as an existential threat.

Speaking at a Holocaust remembrance ceremony, Barnea said, “We brought precise intelligence to the Air Force, and we hit missiles that threatened Israel.”

“But our mission has yet to be completed,” he added, saying operations were planned to continue after the strikes.

Barnea said Mossad’s role would end “only when this radical regime is replaced,” adding that Israel would not stand by in the face of what he described as an existential threat.

Mossad’s statement comes as President Trump’s new blockade on travel through the Strait of Hormuz still remains intact, while a U.S.-sanctioned Chinese tanker passed through the trading corridor to the Gulf of Oman.

Trump’s blockade comes after talks between U.S. and Iranian negotiators ended without an agreement to end the conflict between the two countries. The president said that Tehran refused to meet the U.S.’s demands on nuclear enrichment and other issues.

Under Trump’s blockade, which began on Monday morning, the U.S. military says it is blocking Iranian ports and stopping vessels.

Rich Starry, a medium-range tanker, traveled through the strait on Monday afternoon, making it through the waterway on a second attempt, according to shipping data from Kpler. The ship is carrying around 250,000 barrels of methanol, Reuters reported.

The ship flies under the Malawi flag, but the African country has stated that it has no official registration for ships. The vessel has a Chinese crew on board, according to Reuters.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu castigated Europe as Israel ushered in Holocaust Remembrance Day in a pre-recorded ceremony from Yad Vashem, amid ongoing hostilities with Iran and the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon.

In his speech, Netanyahu said Europe today is “afflicted by deep moral weakness,” and that Israel is now defending the continent, “which has forgotten so much since the Holocaust.”

He accused Europe of “losing control of its identity, of its values, of its responsibility to defend civilization against barbarism.”

“It has much to learn from us,” the premier said, adding, “especially the essential lesson of the clear moral distinction between good and evil, which in moments of truth demands that we go to war for the sake of what’s good, for the sake of life.”

“Israel, on the other hand, doesn’t forget that eternal responsibility,” Netanyahu said.

“Along with the US, and along with other countries with which we are creating alliances that will be spoken about in the future, we are defending ourselves — we are defending the entire world,” he said, adding that “Israel stands with the United States at the forefront of the free world.”
