Democratic Progressive Azad Party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday started his three-day tour of the Doda district where he met various delegations and party workers.
Azad was accompanied by DPAP leader Saddam Nabi Azad, Vice Chairman G.M.Saroori, Gen Secretary Abdul Majeed Wani, Working Committee Member Aslam Goni, PR Manhas Zonal President, Naresh Gupta Provincial Vice President, Asif Gattu Distt President, Javed Azad and others and had detailed interaction with the party workers.
Azad said that it was the duty of his party leadership to reach out to the people at their doorstep instead letting people to run pillar to post to seek the redressal of their grievances.
“I have directed my party leadership to reach out to every person of our UT and hear them patiently. Unlike what used to happen in Congress where workers were forced to run here and there to seek appointment with their concerned leader for any issues,” he said.
He said his party has the only priority to ensure people live in peace and progress economically.
During his three days visit to Doda, Azad said that he will listen everyone and ensure no one is heard during this visit.
“Whatever the problems you are facing, I will take up with concerned authorities and ensure all genuine issues are resolved,” he said.
He said, “we are living in an era where the politics is played while triggering regional and religious issues and divide people to gain electorate.”
However, DPAP is the party that encourages politics over real issues and ensure the bond among the people is tightened irrespective of their faith and region.
He said he respects the secular values and have strictly passed directions in the party not to talk on such issues that hurt the sentiments of people.
He said he can never overlook the struggle and hardships of SC and ST community and will ensure they are benefitted generously if elected to power.
“My politics is based on real and developmental issues that is why today our party is receiving overwhelming response unlike parties who strike communalism and divide people,” he said.
Azad said that Chenab valley is his main focus and he will ensure it is developed and connected properly with the rest of country.
“In my previous tenure as Chief minister I built roads, colleges and hospitals. Whatever is left to do I will do that in coming tenure if we are elected to power,” he said.
