Neeraj Chopra, India’s two-time Olympic medallist, on Wednesday extended his full support to the upcoming Kho Kho World Cup, emphasising the importance of global unity in promoting India’s traditional sport.

Neeraj, a global sports icon, invited sports enthusiasts from around the world to witness the event and contribute to the growing international recognition of Kho Kho.

The Kho Kho World Cup, scheduled to take place from January 13-19, 2025, will be held at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.

The event will bring together 39 teams, competing in both Men’s and Women’s categories, showcasing the talent and passion for Kho Kho on an international stage.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Neeraj said, “Greetings everyone! Let’s all come together for Kho Kho. The exciting Kho Kho World Cup is going to be held in Delhi, which the whole world will watch from January 13 to 19 this year,” announced the two-time Olympic Medallist, whose support highlights the tournament’s significance in promoting Indian sports on the global stage.

The tournament will commence on January 13 with a grand Opening Ceremony, followed by the opening match between India and Nepal, setting the tone for a week of competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

Matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports 1 HD and Star Sports First, with regional coverage provided by Doordarshan in India. Fans worldwide can also enjoy the event through digital streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Neeraj’s endorsement of the Kho Kho World Cup is seen as a major boost to the event, underscoring the growing international appeal of the sport. With the spotlight on Kho Kho, the World Cup is poised to inspire future athletes and elevate the sport’s profile globally.
