Srinagar: Hurriyat (M) spokesman termed the government’s statement that only three persons were injured by the use of pellet gun as a blue-blooded lie.

Giving details, he said in year 2015 alone, at least 15 persons had been critically injured besides dozens more with the use of pellet guns and no reports were registered in innumerable cases.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman said on February 9, 2015, three persons were injured by pellet guns and a student in Palhalan was critically injured.

He said on February 13, in Palhalan, another student was critically injured, who later had to be operated upon.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman said in April, three persons were injured in Jamia Masjid and the eyes of all three were critically damaged by pellet gun use.

He said on May 21, another four persons were injured with pellet guns in Palhalan and one of them, Hamid Ahmad, had around 100 injuries of pellets on his body.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman said on June 27, a youth at Nowhatta was critically injured in the eye with pellet gun use.

He said in Kakpora Pulwama, another two persons were injured in the eye by pellet guns.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman said in August, at Qaimoh Kulgam, more than a dozen people were injured by pellet guns during a week.

He said on September 4, two persons were critically injured in the eye at Nowhatta Srinagar.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman said APHC had facts and figures about the people injured by pellet guns and the puppet government’s statement in the so-called Jammu Kashmir Assembly was bereft of facts and meant to mislead the international community.

He said this was being done to hide the crimes committed by the troops and Police in Jammu Kashmir and to mislead the international human rights bodies that Kashmir was not witnessing any human rights violations. (KNS)
