During the inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonamarg, Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took the opportunity to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his promise to restore statehood to the region.

“Today, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to you, Prime Minister Modi, for being here with us in this cold weather. You have a long-standing relationship with Jammu and Kashmir, and we hope you continue to visit us often, share in our joys, and stay among us,” Abdullah said.

However, the Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of fulfilling the commitment made by the Prime Minister. “My heart tells me that very soon, you will fulfill your promise of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir,” he added, drawing attention to the region’s longstanding demand.

On the occasion, Abdullah also acknowledged the smooth conduct of recent elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
