A student was killed and over a dozen others were injured when the school bus in which they were travelling overturned in Handwara sub-district of north Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.
They said a school bus carrying children on a picnic met with an accident near Vodpora village when the bus skidded off the road and overturned, injuring at least 16 students.
“All the injured children were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, one of them was declared dead on arrival,” an official said, adding that four of the injured are in critical condition.
