A fresh contact was established between security forces and a group of terrorists early Saturday morning, triggering an encounter in the woods of Chatroo in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jammu-based White Knight Corps said in a post on X, “During the ongoing joint Operation TRASHI-I, contact with terrorists was re-established in the early hours in the general area of Dolgam by troops of White Knight Corps, J&K Police, and CRPF.”
They added that intelligence from multiple sources had been coordinated to provide inputs for executing the operation on the ground.
“A cordon has been established, and operations are in progress,” the Army said in a post.
Search operations have been intensified in the snowbound Chatroo belt to track down and neutralise a group of two to three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists holed up in the area.
Mobile internet services were temporarily suspended on Friday within a six-kilometre radius covering Singhpora, Chingam, and Chatroo to prevent misuse by anti-national elements during the ongoing operation, which began on January 18.
