One among two slain believed to be top commander, internet snapped, clashes erupt Operation

Kulgam: Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between militants and government forces in Kathpora area of Yari Pora belt in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday evening.
Official sources told KNO that two militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter and two more are believed to be trapped. They said that the operation is underway.
Sources told KNO that one among the slain militants is believed to be top militant commander Zeenat ul Islam of Sugan Shopian. Earlier, on receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, forces including 34 RR and SOG Yaripora launched a search operation in the area.
“On intensifying the search operation towards the suspected spot, militants hiding fired upon forces which was retaliated, triggering gunfight,” officials said. Meanwhile, clashes erupted between youth and forces in the area during which force used tear gas canisters to disperse the agitating youth.
Meanwhile, the mobile internet services were also snapped in the district soon after the encounter broke out in the village. (KNO)
