ACB chargesheets officials of Revenue, FCS&CA over illegal land and ration allotment

 The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested three officials in Budgam district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe.

Those arrested include ‘Mohammad Irfan Ganaie, Junior Engineer posted at Pakherpora, Charar-i-Sharief, along with Abid Hussain Wani (Lineman) and Sajad Ahmad Mir (PDL)’.

ACB in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that the arrests were made after a written complaint was received alleging that the officials had demanded a bribe of 5,000 for relocating a high-tension (HT) line near the complainant’s residence.

“After verifying the complaint, a trap was laid, and the trio was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe,” the spokesperson said.

Following the arrest, FIR No. 17/2025 was registered under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) and Section 61(2) BNS at Police Station ACB Srinagar.

The Bureau confirmed that further investigation is underway.(KINS)
