PM trying to save Adani: Congress

The Congress on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on the BJP-led government at the Centre over Adani issue, alleging Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Cabinet Ministers and MPs of the ruling dispensation of trying to save billionaire businessman Gautam Adani.

The party also said truth can not be hidden and it will come out.

The Hindenburg Research Report on Adani Group alleged that it had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud schemes over the course of decades.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate while referring to the Adani issue said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government , Union Ministers and MPs are trying to save Gautam Adani.”

“Truth can not be hidden. It will come out,” Shrinate added.

The Congress spokesperson also claimed that diamantaire Jatin Mehta, relative of Adani is a “fugitive” and fled the country after allegedly “defrauding ” Rs 7,000 crores.

Shrinate also asked the government what action it has taken in this matter.

The Congress has been spearheading the Opposition, demanding Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Adani issue.
