Srinagar, October 3: Strongly condemning the police action against the members of J&K Casual and Daily Wagers Forum who are on strike demanding regularization and release of their pending wages, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said the present dispensation seems relying and taking forward the policy of browbeating and application of force to muzzle genuine demands of public.

In a statement to KNS, Tarigami termed the police action against these Daily Wagers/Casual Labouers who had tried to march towards the PDP president’s Gupkar residence as deplorable and unjustifiable. He also called for an immediate end to such bullying tactics adopted by the government.

“The demand for regularization and release of the pending wages are genuine. So instead of entering into dialogue with these agitating casual and daily wagers seems more comfortable silencing these voices through force and browbeating. This pressure tactics is most unfortunate and condemnable,” the CPI (M) leader observed.

Expressing serious concern over the way protesting casual and daily wagers are being dealt with, Tarigami said that use of batons, water cannons and tear smoke shells against the employees is inhuman and deserve to be condemned in strongest possible terms. (KNS)
