J&K Police on Friday carried out coordinated searches at multiple locations across Baramulla district linked to Jammu and Kashmir Nationals Operating from Pakistan (JKNOPs), stepping up efforts to dismantle cross-border terror networks and reinforce the security grid.
Police said they conducted searches at the residential houses of 23 JKNOPs, their family residences, other associated structures, and the houses of close associates within the jurisdiction of Police Station Kunzer.
The searches were undertaken to ascertain any recent developments, identify possible communication with handlers from across the border, gather evidence relevant to ongoing investigations, and assess any activities that may pose a threat to the security of the area, police said
During the operation, a few electronic devices, including mobile phones, were seized for technical examination and forensic analysis.
The searches were conducted strictly in accordance with the provisions of law and in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, ensuring transparency and adherence to due legal procedure, police added.
Police also conducted coordinated searches at the residential houses of JKNOPs, their family residences, and other closely associated structures within the jurisdictions of Police Station Kreeri, Police Station Boniyar, and Police Post Kamalkote.
Police said such lawful operations will continue as part of sustained efforts to counter security threats and ensure a safe and secure environment for the public.
