Police in Ganderbal attach properties worth Crores of 3 individuals who exfiltrated to Pakistan

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached immovable properties worth crores of rupees belonging to three individuals from the Ganderbal district who had exfiltrated to Pakistan to receive illegal arms and ammunition training.

According to police, the attached properties belonged to Firdous Ahmad Wani of Treesa Safapora, Mohammad Ramzan Bhat of Batpora Safapora, and Mohammad Ayoub Ganie of Pahlipora Safapora.

The properties-agricultural land measuring nine kanals and seven marlas, valued at approximately Rs 3.47 crore-were attached on the orders of the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Ganderbal. The action was taken in connection with an FIR registered in 2009 under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at Police Station Kheerbawani.

“The three individuals whose properties have been attached had exfiltrated to Pakistan for obtaining illegal arms and ammunition training,” police said.

They added that this “decisive step” is part of ongoing efforts to take stringent action against those involved in unlawful activities and falling under the ambit of the UAPA.

“This move underscores the unwavering commitment of the Ganderbal Police to act against elements engaged in activities that pose a threat to public safety and national security,” a police statement said, adding that the action sends a strong message about the force’s zero-tolerance policy and serves as a deterrent.
