Police in J&K's Bandipora attach property worth Rs 3.59 crore as proceeds of terrorism

Police in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir today attached immovable property worth over Rs 3.59 crores, identifying it as proceeds of terrorism.

The property belonged to Hashir Rafiq Parray a resident of Patushay village in Bandipora.

Police said the attachment was carried out under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with FIR No. 168/2022 registered at Police Station Bandipora.

The case also invokes sections of the Explosive Substances Act and the E&IMCO Act.

The attached property included, an agricultural land measuring one Kanal and 18.5 Marlas across various survey numbers and a residential house located in Patushay village.

“The property has been identified as proceeds of terrorism, linked to Parray’s alleged involvement in facilitating and promoting militant activities in the district on the instructions of his handlers based in Pakistan,” Police said.
