Baramulla: Residents of Heaven, Kalaban and Kawhar area of district Baramulla are up in arms against the Roads and Building (R&B) department for failing to macadamize the road.

More than four kilometer long link road, which was macadamized in the month of October this year connects Heaven area with Kawhar through Kalaban village have developed potholes within two months of macdamisation, the locals told KNO.

A group of locals said this road does not even witness a massive traffic flow. The road has turned into a messy and is giving tough to commuters.

The locals questioned over the martial used while macadamization process, saying that it seems that the low grade material has been used during the process.

R&B department, Junior Engineer, Tufail Beigh told KNO that refuted the allegations levelled by the locals, saying that the road from Kalaban to Kawhar has not developed any pothole. “There may b some places where the work could not have been completed but overall the position of road is good,” Beigh said.(KNO)
