Rains Lash Plains Of J&K, Higher Reaches Receive Fresh Snowfall

SRINAGAR: Overnight moderate to heavy rainfall drenched most parts of Kashmir, even as higher reaches received a fresh spell of moderate snowfall.

Officials said that weather is likely to improve from today evening. Apart from light rain showers at a few places on 28 Feb and 01 March, weather is most likely to stay dry till 03 March. There is a possibility of light rainfall at a few places around 03 March and widespread light to moderate rainfall around 07 March.

Srinagar city recorded a minimum temperature of 4.7 degrees Celsius & 9.0mm rainfall during past 24hrs.

Pahalgam recorded a low temperature of 0.3 degrees Celsius & rainfall equivalent to 18.5mm.

Kokernag, Kupwara & Qazigund recorded low temperatures of 0.1°C, 0.7°C & 2.2°C & 31.4mm, 45.4mm & 23.2mm rainfall respectively.

Gulmarg recorded rain/snow equivalent to 23.2mm & a low temperature of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius.

In Jammu region, Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah recorded 40.4mm, 13.6mm, 10.3mm rainfall respectively. (PTK)
