Ranveer Singh's 'Pralay' set to redefine scale for Mumbai-based cinema

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ‘Pralay’ is quietly being positioned as a landmark project for Hindi cinema, with industry sources indicating that it will surpass all previous Mumbai-set films in terms of scale and budget.

To turn Mumbai into a Zombieland would require an immeasurable amount of planning, reports Bollywood Reporter.

Said a source close to the project, “The entire city’s landscape has to be mapped and the post-apocalypse scenario has to be structured accordingly. This is the scale of devastation seen in John Kransinki’s A Quiet Place and Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later.”

Directed by Jay Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the project is backed by Sameer Nair and Applause Entertainment, who are said to be intent on delivering a film that matches international benchmarks in both ambition and finish.
