‘Discriminatory’ regularization norm for ReTs fuels anger

Srinagar: While the government is making big claims to improve education system, hundreds of files of teachers recruited by SSB are gathering dust at Kashmir Directorate of School Education and decisions taken to regularise ReT teachers.

Sources said these files have come to a grinding halt due to “discriminatory” norms set by the department.

Well placed sources told KNS that while hundreds of files of the teachers recruited by Services Selection Board (SSB) and appointed by the Government are pending disposal at the directorate for clearing the payment of salaries, the higher ups are yet to call the files of seven hundred ReT teachers working in different KGBV schools for regularization mandate by the government through a circular issued from the administrative department few months back.

Sources said salaries of hundreds of teachers recruited by the government are yet to be released by the concerned Zonal Education Officer as the authorities dot not clear files about the release of e salaries of these teachers.

Sources also said that verification of the qualification of the qualification certificates and antecedents of these newly appointed general line teachers has been already completed.

Meanwhile the sources have also revealed that the authorities are yet to call the files of those seven hundred ReT teachers working in different KGBV Schools whose regularization after lot of deliberations was mandate by the administrative department by issuing a circular early this year.

The sources told KNS that Chief Education Officers are refusing to sent the files of 700 KGBV teachers without a fresh written communication from the authorities.

Though KNS made repeated attempts to contact Director School Education Dr Shah Faisal for his response over the delay issue, he did not reply. (KNS)
