Hurriyat (G) Stages Protest Against Human Rights Violation In JK

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) organized protest march at Hyderpora Srinagar against the gross human rights violation committed by the Indian occupational forces in length and breadth of the state.

The protestors, displayed the placards and banners to highlight their demands to safeguard their political and civil rights with reference to the movement for right to self-determination.

Senior members of Majlis Shoora and other representatives who participated in the protest march include

Devender Singh Beha, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Saleem Zargar, Mohammad Rafiq Uwasi, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Mohammad Yaseen Aataie, Khawaja Firdious, Syed Imtiyaz Haider, Rameez Raja, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Maqbool Maghami, Mubashir Iqbal, Arshad Aziz, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Arshad Hussain, Riyaz Ahmad and Abdul Rashid in addition to hundreds of youth and other activists.

Addressing the gathering at Hyderpora, Hurriyat leader said that the Indian policy of suppression and repression in Jammu and Kashmir has failed to yield any positive results for India.

Through the elongated period of ordeal and barbarism since 1947, India is currently facing a powerful people’s political movement for right to self-determination in every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, said the Hurriyat leader.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has condoled the demise of mother-in-law of Dr. Mohammad Shafi Khan (Sharyati), who is facing life imprisonment.

Geelani sahab said families of prisoners particularly those with life imprisonment have a very tough and painful life and if some dear one departs in between, the pain and agony gets multifold for such families.

Hurriyat chairman said that we share the grief with Dr. Shafi sahab and the bereaved family and pray for eternal peace of deceased and courage for the family to bear this painful loss. (VMS)
