London, May 23 (UNI) Russia has likely “suffered a similar death toll” in the first three months of its invasion of Ukraine, the UK Ministry of Defence said on Monday while drawing a similarity with that of the Soviet Union in its nine years of war in Afghanistan.
The Ministry said, “A combination of poor low-level tactics, limited air cover, a lack of flexibility, and a command approach which is prepared to reinforce failure and repeated mistakes has led to this high casualty rate, which continues to rise in the Donbas offensive.”
On Tuesday, Russia-Ukraine conflict, which began on February 24, will enter its fourth month.
According to World Health Organization (WHO), “@WHO has verified 30 additional attacks on health care in #Ukraine. As of 23 May, 248 attacks on health care have been verified in Ukraine. These attacks took place between 24 February and 19 May & caused 75 deaths and 59 injuries. Health care should never be a target.”
