Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on Thursday, addressing the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
During the call, the ministers discussed the “grave military-political crisis” triggered by the unprovoked US-Israeli aggression against Iran.
Both sides exchanged views on the prospects for steering the conflict toward a political and diplomatic settlement based on international law and taking into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region, including Iran and its neighbours in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
In addition, Lavrov informed Araghchi about the delivery of a new batch of Russian humanitarian aid to Iran, underscoring ongoing bilateral cooperation in the region.
