Mumbai, (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained strong for the third straight session on Tuesday as it advanced 138 points to 60,534.36 as renewed buying was seen in Finance, Industrials and IT stocks.
The Nifty too rose 36 points to 18,039.30.
The Sensex registered the days high and low at 60,571.30 and 60,281.52 points respectively.
The Nifty registered the days high and low at 18,053.90 and 17,964.40 points respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up 0.23 per cent and Small Cap by 0.54 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 14 advanced, 15 declined and one remained unchanged.
The gainers were HCL Technology by 3.10 per cent to Rs 1328.60, HDFC by 1.64 per cent to Rs 2703.75, NTPC by 1.14 per cent to Rs 133.30 and Reliance Industries by 1 per cent to Rs 834.75.
The losers were Tata Steel by 1.54 per cent to Rs 1151, Bajaj Finance by 1.52 per cent to Rs 7611, Bharti Airtel by 1.18 per cent to Rs 696.40 and Asian Paints by 1.17 per cent to Rs 3513.50.
