SHO arrested by ACB in bribe case in Srinagar

The Anti Corruption Bureau of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a Station House Officer (SHO) for allegedly accepting a bribe, officials said.

Police said Pantha Chowk SHO, Azim Iqbal was arrested red-handed by ACB sleuths while accepting the bribe.

A complaint was lodged against the officer alleging that he was demanding Rs 8 lakhs through a tout for issuing a police report in a case registered this year.

” The complainant said he had already paid Rs 5.5 lakhs and he was asked to pay Rs 1.5 lakhs on Friday. The ACB laid a trap and the SHO was apprehended red-handed along with the tout,” The ACB also recovered the money during the raid.
