A mosque was gutted in a fire that broke out near the Government Silk Weaving Factory complex in the Rajbagh area of the city this evening, officials said
According to Fire and Emergency Services officials, the blaze erupted in a single-story mosque used by Silk Factory employees for prayers.
Soon after the incident, several fire tenders were rushed from the city centre to douse the leaping flames.
However, there was no report of any injury to anyone and the cause of the fire is being investigated, they said.
