Stand against the violence and Divisive politics

BUDGAM, MAY 13 (UNI):- People protest against the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat at Sheikhpora in Budgam on Friday.

The political violence in Kashmir continues. Be it the common civilians or the minority community all are being targeted at will by the terrorists. BJP’s rise to power is prominently attributed to its sloganeering of zero tolerance towards the anti national activities.

It has been at the fullest making it an election campaign whenever elections happen. But the situation in Kashmir is altogether different.  So far this year three minority members fell to the bullets.

Similarly, the cops and the civilians from the majority community also face bullets from the terrorists. This is all putting the pressure on BJP at centre and in Kashmir UT administration directly ruled by MHA.

BJP can’t run away from its responsibilities and ensure the security of the common people. It has made big promises and it has to live upto its commitment. But the irony is that BJP which is ruling is also on roads like opposition.

That is not going to resolve the problem on ground. The opposition has also cornered it and blamed its divisive political agenda for the prevailing situation.  In case the killings don’t stop the minority community members who after tough times have returned to their ancestral homeland may again be forced for the migration. And in case that happens it will have strong political consequences for the BJP.

Congress is already demanding an explanation from the BJP for its failure to protect the minorities in Kashmir. There is also a need to keep control over the language of the BJP leaders who most of the times use communal slurs or words that offend the community and have instant reactions. Peace can be ensured with religious harmony and India has a history of living in that state for centuries.

Its socio-cultural ethos can’t be disputed which has protected its sovereignty and helped to script its own success stories in all spheres of life. But that in all cases needs to be protected and promoted by one and all. Politics for meager electoral gains can ruin us and have severe socio economic ramifications.

Let it be understood and stand all against the violence and divisive politics to make Kashmir yet again Paradise on Earth.
