Train halted after eagle hit front mirror in South Kashmir; loco pilot injured

A train travelling from Baramulla to Banihal was halted at Anantnag railway station on Saturday morning after an eagle struck the locomotive’s front mirror between Bijbehara and Anantnag, officials said.

The impact damaged the train’s windshield, causing minor injuries to the loco pilot, identified as Vishal, who was immediately given first aid at Anantnag railway station.

“ The train was stopped at Anantnag railway station following the incident. The loco pilot sustained minor injuries and was provided medical attention at the station,” a railway official said.

The official added that all passengers were safe and that the train was halted at Anantnag temporarily while safety and technical inspections were carried out.
