In a major incident at least 12 people were killed and 16 others were injured when a roadways bus collided with a van in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a senior administration official said here.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the road accident in Hathras district. He has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased.
He has directed the district administration to immediately take the injured to the hospital and to provide them proper treatment. Along with this, he also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Chief Minister has directed the district administration officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief work.
District Magistrate Ashish Kumar said that the incident took place on Agra-Aligarh highway where in a bid to overtake the roadways bus collided with the van. He said that so far 12 deaths have been confirmed.
He said that 16 people have been injured in the incident out of which 4 have been referred to Aligarh.
