Eighteen people were killed and 19 others were injured when a tanker collided with a double decker bus in Bangarmau area of Unnao district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a police officer said here.
Circle Officer (CO) Bangarmai Arvind Kumar said that the incident took place near Jogikot village where the bus going to Delhi from Siwan in a bid to overtake collided with the milk tanker.
He said both the vehicles overturned after collision. “18 people, including drivers of both the vehicles, we’re killed in the incident,” he said.
The CO said that the police and UPEIDA team reached the spot and launched relief and rescue work. “19 people have been injured and have been referred to the district hospital,” he said.
