Six people died and one was injured when a car collided with a truck in the Garhmukteshwar area of Hapur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Tuesday.
Police sources said the incident took place late on Monday night when the car coming from Delhi broke the divider and collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
“After getting information, the police reached the spot, and the passengers trapped in the car were sent to a local hospital,” they said.
Police sources said at the hospital, the doctors declared Rohit Saini (33), Anup Singh Gurjar (38), Sandeep Prajapati (35), Nicky Jain, Raju Jain (36) and Vipin Soni (35) dead.
“Dalu Hera, who sustained serious injuries, has been referred to a higher centre for treatment,” they said.
Circle Officer (CO) Ashutosh Shivam said the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. The deceased, all residents of Ghaziabad, were on their way to Moradabad at the time of the incident.
