Four persons were killed and a woman was injured when a truck after hitting a motorcycle overturned on an e-rickshaw while attempting to flee in Lonar area of Hardoi district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Jagdishpur village when the speeding truck hit the motorcycle. “Motorcyclist Amar (30), a resident of Mohaddipur under Sandi police station, and his son Ritesh (5) were killed in the incident. Amar’s wife Sudha was injured in the accident and has been admitted to the medical college,” they said.
Police sources said that the truck in a bid to flee from the spot overturned on the e-rickshaw in Saitiyapur village killing its driver Pujari and a passenger Guddu. “The truck driver was nabbed by the local residents and handed over to the police,” they said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Dwivedi aloding with Additional SP Nripendra visited the spot and directed the police to send the bodies for post mortem examination.
