Redevelopment work commences on famous Goni Khan Street under SSCP in Srinagar

 Authorities in Srinagar have commenced the redevelopment work on Goni Khan Street which is a famous one-stop shop for women.

The redevelopment work has started under the ongoing Srinagar Smart City Project (SSCP).

“The work on the Goni Market redevelopment project has commenced under the SSCP”, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Athar Aamir Khan said on X.

“Alongwith this, the work on the development of new pedestrian bridge next to Amirakadal bridge, the HariSingh High Street Redevelopment project and Jehangir Chowk Junction Improvement project has also started.”

Goni Khan Market is a congested and busy bazaar in the city’s Lal Chowk neighbourhood and is one of the most visited markets in Srinagar City and is a one stop shop for women.

The market houses several small shops that deal in items related to women. The availability of products at an affordable price makes the market a busy place .

The market mostly sells women oriented products including clothes, Gold Jewellery, shoes, Cosmetic and bridal items remaining always in hustle and bustle.

The administration has already redeveloped several key locations of Srinagar city including Lal Chowk, Residency Road, Jehlum Bund, The Bund and Gupkar road under the SSCP.
