J&K: Sledge rider?s body retrieved from Thajwas glacier

The body of a local sledge rider who went missing after a portion of the Thajwas glacier at tourist spot Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district collapsed was retrieved on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan, a resident of Haknar Gund.

The body has been taken to the Public Health Centre in Sonamarg for the necessary legal medical formalities by the police.

A portion of the Thajwas glacier collapsed at picturesque Sonamarg on Sunday, during which the sledge rider and two tourists who were enjoying the scenic atmosphere fell down.

However, the tourists were rescued immediately by the people.
