Farooq expresses concern over US-Israel attacks on Iran

Date:

Former Chief Minister and the National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday expressed concern over the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, warning of serious global repercussions.

He, however, also urged the Government of India to clarify its position.

“If not handled carefully, the escalating tensions could even trigger a wider global conflict,” Abdullah told reporters during a visit to Katra town in Reasi district.

He said that the Government of India must clarify its official stance on the issue, as similar interventions had taken place in other countries as well.

“The ongoing conflict may have far-reaching consequences across the globe and may lead to another world war if tensions continue to escalate,” he added and urged the international community to work towards de-escalation and called for restraint and peace to prevent further instability in the region.
He termed that America attacking the independent nation of Iran was “wrong”.
