More than 3,000 pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Yatra left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas on Tuesday.
Officials said a fresh batch of 3,051 pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for the Baltal base camp.
The pilgrims travelled in a convoy of 151 vehicles under elaborate security arrangements.
No convoy was dispatched for the Pahalgam route, officials added.
The annual pilgrimage is scheduled to conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
So far, more than four lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine.
The yatra, which was suspended on July 19 as a precautionary measure following a weather advisory issued for Jammu and Kashmir, particularly along the twin pilgrimage routes of Pahalgam and Baltal leading to the holy cave shrine, resumed on Saturday.
