Continuing its relentless crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crores belonging to notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Acting in accordance with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta attached the following properties identified as illegally acquired assets generated through proceeds of narcotics trafficking:
1. Sajad Ahmad Sheikh son of Bakhtavar Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Zahidpora Sheikh Colony, Hawal – A double-storeyed residential house constructed on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 55/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act.
2. Mst. Hajra Begum W/O Fayaz Ahmad Khan, resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta – A double-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 13/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act.
3. Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh @ Gulloo son of Late Gh. Hassan Sheikh, resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta – A four-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 41/2021, 11/2018 and 06/2013 under the NDPS Act.
4. Fahmeeda @ Famba W/O Late Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A single-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 32/2019 U/S 8/20-29 NDPS Act.
5. Abdul Ahad Sheikh son of Dilawar Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A double-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 32/2019, 40/2019 and 48/2019 under the NDPS Act.
6. Gh. Nabi Sheikh son of Habib Ullah Sheikh, resident of Sheikh Colony, Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A three-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 57/2020, 46/2005 and 06/2006 under the NDPS Act.
7. Altaf Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Hameed Sheikh, resident of Sheikh Colony, Androoni Kathidarwaza – A double-storeyed residential house on 4.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act.
8. Hyder Ali Wani son of Sajad Ahmad Wani, resident of Kathidarwaza, Rainawari – A double-storeyed residential house on 5.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act.
9. Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Sultan Sheikh, resident of Kathidarwaza, Rainawari – A three-storeyed residential house on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act.
10. Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Barthana, Qamarwari – A double-storeyed residential house on 7 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 52/2019 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act.
The attached properties, with a cumulative estimated value of approximately ₹8 crore, have been identified during investigation as Assets acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking. The attachment has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug networks and deprive offenders of the benefits derived from illegal drug trade.
J&K Police remains steadfast in its commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and will continue to take stringent legal action against drug peddlers and all those involved in the narcotics ecosystem. Such measures are aimed not only at prosecuting offenders but also at eliminating the economic foundations of the drug trade to ensure a safer, healthier and drug-free society. The general public is urged to continue supporting the anti-drug campaign by sharing any information related to narcotics trafficking with the nearest police station or through the dedicated helpline.
