Incessant Rains, Snowfall Causes Water-Logging In Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Incessant rains and snowfall caused water-logging in various areas of the summer capital Srinagar.According to reports several areas of Srinagar city including Bemina, HMT, Sheltang, Batamaloo, Qamarwari, MustafaAbad, Panthachowk, Channapora, Sonawar and internal areas of the old city including Khanyar, Baba Demp, Fateh Kadal, Bohre Kadal, Nawa Kadal, Rojouri Kadal and other internal areas are yet deluged.

Locals said “It was hard for the pedestrians to walk on the roads and by-lanes in several areas”.

They said that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has failed to de-water the lanes, by-lanes and drainages.

“We have appealed the PDD department to provide the sufficient power supply without frequent cuts as soon as possible, so that we could curb the situation,” he added. (PTK)
