Amarnath Yatra Halt Due To Inclement Weather

After cloud burst triggered landslides and flash floods near Baltal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday evening,the Amarnath Yatra has been put on halt on Wednsday along both Baltal and Pahalgam routes.

The tracks are reportedly slippery due to overnight heavy rainfall and landslides.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Dr. Piyush Singla told that the yatra has been halted from Baltal route in view of inclement weather and bad road condition.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik said: “No pilgrim was allowed to undertake journey from Nunwan base camp towards the cave shrine today.”

According to Official teams of army, state police, civil administration, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, MRT, and CRPF were clearing the track hit by the landslide.
